I have started and frogged at least ten projects in the last 2 or 3 weeks. I am having a hard time concentrating on anything, and charts are proving to be a difficulty. I did dye this pound of Lion Brand Fishermens wool yesterday, and then started a faroese style shawl. I decided that I didn’t like the garter stitch though, so frogged it this morning. I am going to start again this afternoon, using Stockinette stitch. I just like that better for lace. In this thick yarn, the garter stitch looked kind of clunky, although the yarn knit up beautifully and there was no color pooling at all.

The one thing I have been able to do is spin. I spun up this blue, from the roving I dyed a few weeks ago. It turned out nicely, I think. I also spun up the rest of that roving that I didn’t think I was going to like. I left it as singles, and I am planning on weaving a scarf from it, as soon as I can figure out how to warp the rigid heddle loom. I am probably going to finish the fareose shawl first though. It is going to be my comfort knitting I think.

I have been baking a lot of bread this week. Mom sent me home with a bread machine after our visit to WV 2 weekends ago. I have been making the dough in the machine and then shaping it and baking it in the oven though. The bread machine loaves are just too tall, and if you cut it crosswise, still too big for the toaster. I guess a lot of it is comfort food. I feel so uncomfortable writing about my private life here. Knitting and spinning is one thing, my “real life” is something altogether different. I don’t want to say too much about other peoples lives, either. I feel like though, after saying dad was sick, I need to at least clarify it a little bit. We were told at the hospital when we went to visit that dad has Stage IV lung cancer. It isn’t good, and there isn’t much they can do for him. We can pray though, and God can do great things through prayer. Anyway, I guess it’s going to be rough for a while, and if I don’t post regularly, you will know why, okay?
